Job Description
As a Business License Associate Analyst, you will be responsible for handling registrations and filings for all requested licenses at all government levels. The current role focuses on state-level sales tax registrations, primarily performed online. The ideal candidate must be able to learn quickly and work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where attention to detail, analytical skills, and strong communication skills are critical.
Job Duties
- Prepare and file Sales & Use tax returns and payments accurately and timely to meet all filing deadlines.
- Understand state rules and regulations.
- Maintain high accuracy standards in line with standard operating procedures to avoid penalties and interest for clients.
- Meet SLAs, ensuring accurate and timely registrations.
- Communicate ongoing status, challenges, and blockers to the manager.
- Stay updated on trends and support overall production/accuracy goals.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and efficiency.
- Plan and prepare monthly/quarterly/semi-annual/annual filings with the team.
- Serve as the front-line contact for external customers via email and phone.
- Assist internal teams with technical issues and inquiries.
- Communicate clearly, concisely, and maintain accurate records.
- Be open to additional responsibilities to meet deadlines.
- Adhere to and deliver according to timelines set by various government authorities.
- Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as required.
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and precision.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- 0 to 2 years of relevant experience.
- MBA in Finance preferred.
- Knowledge of Sales Tax (VAT & Use Tax) preferred.
- Experience with tracking tools like Salesforce & Atlassian Jira.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clarify and respond to client queries.
